FOUNDING STORY

Transformation Life Center Detroit grew from Transform Outside the Walls (TOW) Ministry, which began at Mount Charity Church as an effort to reach youth and families in the surrounding community. As the need for youth mentorship, academic support, and enrichment programming continued to grow, the initiative expanded into a nonprofit organization so the work could reach even more young people across Detroit. Transformation Life Center Detroit was founded by Talisha Belk, and many of the individuals who helped build the early ministry now serve as part of the organization’s leadership and board. Together they continue working toward a shared vision of expanding opportunities for youth while strengthening families and communities.
